One mans meat......

For every man who i've ignored and written off as not good enough for me, for every man i've labeled as the ragged edge of my universe is a woman waiting to find him, dying to have him look at her, to pour her love on and longing for him to be the warm center of her world.
Thus its easy for me to accept that the man i finally choose to love, to make that warm cosy center of my being would have at one point been the ragged edge of anothers universe.
But who cares, as long as we love that person and are loved back in return, then thats all that matters Right?
Love transcends weight and height, it goes beyond dark or fair skin, it does not see the funny walk or hear the funny talk, nor does it mind the weight nor lack of weight of your wallet. If you're with one who stays with you despite the "lack of's" then you're truly blessed.
No ones perfect, we have a whole bunch of imperfect people plundering the earth, and for every imperfect person is someone gifted with the ability to love him perfectly.
A acquaintance of mine got shot some years ago, he wasn't killed thank God, but it got him blind.
Some would have found it repulsing and locked themselves up in shells of self pity, but he took charge of life, became a better person(i hope) still remained popular and so independent sometimes you wondered if he was really blind. Hes not the finest of brothers(many wouldnt use fine to describe him)and added to his blindness you definitely wouldn't call him 'fine' (God forgive me....) but that wasn't a hindrance to him and the girl who fell in love with him, as he recently walked down the aisle with his beautiful bride.
And many girls and mothers(including me) whispered about the young couple and how brave and crazy the new Mrs was to actually wed him and how we couldn't do what she did, marry a blind man.
But then, thinking about it, i see her as really special, cos rather than see him as a ragged edge, a hindrance and such a burden to her future, she looked on to him as her warm center and celebrated her future of perfection with him. She would love him perfectly in his imperfection(for maybe shes that person with the perfect love). He's her man, blind to the world but with the brightest of eyes to her. Her perfect love transcends his blindness. And they'll live happily ever after(Amen)
Afterall, they say one mans meat is another mans kpomo(and trust me kpomo can be all juicy when cooked the right way) so its really not a one man world.
Thats life folks....

  1. woooord!i took a personality test today and the results showed me as being an idealist which led to me looking for the perfect man which led to me being so choosy which has led to me being by myself despite the herd of suitable(to a lot of women)suitors tht i used to do yanga. mayb this drought is to help me better understand the fact tht no one is perfect so i shd grow up and stop looking for rpefection

  4. hmmmm... two back to back 'serious' posts.. what gives?

Totally captured it though... So for the brothers (and sisters) that others have labelled as the ragged edge of their universe... there is hope!
