You've arrived yeah?

The one with a million dollars bragged about his wealth, until he was humbled by the one with a billion dollars.

you know who T.Boone Pickens is? He's a rich old man Texan oil billionaire.(what he's doing following Drakes on twitter i don't know. Source

While you're boasting about your boyfriend being a photographers assistant at that GQ shoot... someones smiling because her boyfriend is the model for the cover of GQ.
The man boasting about his 10year visa was humbled when he caught a glimpse at the color of his friends' passport.
Same way bragging about the number of hits you get on your site, is turned to dust when you hear the number the blogger next door takes home every day.

When you think you've arrived, think twice before you run your mouth pissing people off with your boast, there's always someone who has attained higher than your perceived peak... All it takes is knowing who that person is to make you feel downcast within you. (We've all had our moments)

Boast only in the Lord... “... If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD.” 2 Corinthians 10:17

Satisfaction comes from God and God alone... in that peace he gives, you don't see the need to show off to make yourself feel better and relevant.

Don't get me wrong. Be proud of your achievements, but don't get conceited about it. It's a thin line between celebrating your success and being boastful. Be careful not to cross that line, it's such an ugly look.

"When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them." 2 Corinthians 10:18
All your achievements are worth nothing without Christ.

Next time you're about to go drake on your followers, boasting about flying first class, imagine there's one of your followers who's on a private jet while she's reading the tweet and humble yourself. It's not easy, but let's try and swallow some statements as often as we can.

"If this Life has anything to gain at all
I count it lost if I can’t hear you, feel you, ’cause I need you.
Can’t Walk this Earth Alone.
I recognize I am not my own, so before I fall
I need to hear you, feel you, as I live to make my boasting you alone." Boasting, Lecrae ft Anthony Evans

I seem to be on a Drake P tonight. I don't know any of Drakes songs, and i would never have known who he was if i wasn't on any of the social networks... I saw this comparison on twitter

@mrmedina: Drake : "I just want a woman that looks 30 when she's 81" / Lecrae: "I can't wait to date you when you're 60 and your hair is gray." Lyrics on different ends of the pole. One so shallow, carnal and laced with lust while the other so deep, with the sweet scent of true wholesome love. Remind me why I've never listened to Drake... :p

Choose today whom you would listen to :)

Got Jesus?

  5. Yes, no matter how we think we can get satisfaction in our achievements, there's always someone who has achieved more, so we can never achieve enuf. Better to achieve in God.
