On Lemons and Lemonades... The Beauty in The Ugly.
What the enemy meant for
evil, God uses it for His glory, for our good. The saying when life throws you lemons, you make lemonades, depicts this bible
verse to me “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of
those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” Romans
8:28(NLT) When the devil throws those issues at you, after you’ve winced
from where it hurts and probably shed a few tears, don’t fold up and sit
defeated… that’s not it! You pick the lemons and squeeze the life/juice out of
it and sip on the delicious lemonade made. Honestly? I’m not crazy about lemonades;
I’d pretty much pick up the lemons and make a nice tall glass of coke with it.
How? I don’t know… but miracles come out of impossibilities right?
So baby, all things work
together for your good. The pain is birthing a greater purpose. The loss is
making room for a bigger replacement. The betrayal is revealing a clearer
picture of the world to you and teaching you how to deal.
You’ll be just fine darling.
The process of making the lemonade may take a teeny weeny bit of time, but
you’ll be sipping on that lemonade (in my case coke), legs crossed, by the
seaside, marveling at the greatness of God as you stare at the deep blueness of
the vast sea and clouds (Just like in those perfect vacation pictures we see on
the internet) and laughing at the bully devil as he goes to find more lemon to
throw at you.
Yes child, more… he’s pretty
determined, that naughty boy, he never gives up on trying to cause havoc on
Gods children. “ When the devil had
finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came” Luke
4:13(NLT) I mean he knew Jesus was the BOSS, but that didn’t stop him from
trying again. And maybe we feel like he won when he was able to get Jesus
killed… but see? That worked for our good, because with Jesus alive as man,
much couldn’t be done, with Him dead and risen… so much good has come to the
world, the Holy Spirit lives in each and everyone of us, something a human
Jesus couldn’t achieve.
So even if Mr. devil gathers
enough lemons and comes back, know that the fight has been fixed in your favor
child. You always win because Christ has won. He basically shames the devil, by
using his tool of destruction to elevate His children… classic!
satan would get the lemons,
he would throw them at you, but you would come out better than before the
attack, and he would go away again, but only for a season… he just keeps
trying. Silly isn’t it? But all the same, you always win.

"The righteous person may have many
troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;" Psalm 34:19(NIV)
Get creative with your
lemons, make lemonades, or like me, make coke or beautiful cocktails and
celebrate your victory and elevation created from the weapons he used to pull
you down.
Ahhh, the beauty of our God.
Is it raining lemons in your life right now? I know it hurts, but find the
strength in God’s love for you and rise up, even if you’re limping, rise and
start preparing your refreshing drink, for you will need it as you sit at the
table God prepares for you in the presence of your enemies (your trials, your
pain, the betrayals) sipping on the juice as you celebrate the goodness birthed out of it.
I love you(I really do love
you, yes YOU!), and I pray for the grace to rise and live and love and laugh despite what
has been thrown your way. I pray for grace to choose to push through and live,
and see what the goodness of God has for you, grace to see the beauty this pain
births in you.
I know the place you speak from, but there are times when it really is hard to even concentrate on the lemonade making process. Life hits us sometimes and there is very little faith left in us to continue, although the word doesn't need my faith to be the biggest to be effective; it says, as a grain of mustard seed is enough... Back to the gist, this is a brilliant piece again. God bless you!
