In the play of love… the world give rules.
“You can’t give too much of yourself or else you’ll be taken for granted”
There are a lot of games; a lot of questions, a lot of teasing, and some love affairs seem to have bipolar tendencies.
You don’t show yourself… you’re not completely naked (not literally naked) and unashamed… you hide facts, you give half truths because you try to be deserving of the love… because you don’t want that love to see you as less than you are… you don’t want it to diminish with each glimpse of who you really are.
That’s the game of love the world dictates… a love that fades over time, so you have to keep fanning the flames, because if you don’t it’ll ebb out… and we’re not always so strong to fan continuously… so we have on and off days in love. Hot today, cold tomorrow and ready to give up the day after.
But thank God His love isn’t that way. God’s love is “uncontrolled, uncontained. Your love is a fire burning bright for me. Its not just a spark, is not just a flame… your love is light that all the world will see”
Pieces is a song loaded with so much truth of the Father’s love… a love given wholly, and not in pieces. A love that isn’t here for the games, but here for real, for me… unashamed and unrestrained towards me… reaching out for me all day everyday… when I fall, and when I stand tall… His love is absolutely proud to be seen with me.
Glory to God!!!
Your love's not fractured
It's not a troubled mind
It isn't anxious
It's not the restless kind
Your love's not passive
It's never disengaged
It's always present
It hangs on every word we say
Love keeps its promises
It keep its word
It honors what's sacred
'Cause its vows are good
Your love's not broken
It's not insecure
Your love's not selfish
Your love is pure
You don't give Your heart in pieces
You don't hide Yourself to tease us
